Adjustable Clutch Stop

This infinitely adjustable clutch stop decreases this extra amount of return travel between the firewall and the point at which the clutch engages. Eliminating this dead space results in instantaneous clutch engagement for the driver. This one-piece design was created to avoid the compromises BMW incorporates in its large-scale series production cars without even the slightest restriction on suitability for everyday use. BMW, as most other manufacturers, design their manual transmissions to take into account the varying levels of drivers' experience. This is accomplished through the use of an internal part of the transmission called a clutch release fork lever. The clutch release fork and clutch slave cylinder transfer clutch pedal motion to the clutch release hub and bearing. Using different clutch release forks, the manufacture is able to change the clutch engagement point, to better suit an inexperienced driver and the possibility that they would stall the car. This excessive free play is however unacceptable for the true enthusiast. The adjustable clutch stop decreases this extra amount of return travel between the firewall and the point at which the clutch engages. Eliminating this dead space results in instantaneous clutch engagement for the driver.
